Drone technology is a vital new tool with a wide range of applications for humanitarian response. In recent events—from the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh to the cyclone responses in Mozambique and many others—drone technology has enabled humanitarian organizations to collect data on risks, settlement patterns, logistics, and disaster impacts with high speed, accuracy and resolution. In order to realize operational gains from these efforts requires a combination of strong GIS data integration. This must also be linked to effective local partnerships and deployment of best practices in data ethics, regulatory compliance, and coordination amongst key actors.

This webinar highlights the capacity of Esri’s ArcGIS suite, including ArcGIS Online, Drone2Map, and ArcGIS Pro. To gain meaningful insights from humanitarian drone imagery, Eric Lovell from Esri will detail new advances and applications in Esri’s ArcGIS Drone Collections. Andrew Schroeder, VP of Research and Analysis for Direct Relief and Co-Founder of WeRobotics will discuss best practices and recent case studies in humanitarian drone deployments. A version of this webinar was recently presented at the Nethope Global Summit in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
