Webinar Recap: Higher Education Opportun

Revisit our NLG Tech Task Force webinar with the Institute of International Education’s PEER program.

NetHope’s NLG Tech Task Force webinar series continues to highlight work that enables cross-sector collaboration to provide education, skills training, and professional development for refugee youth. This month, the NetHope Solutions Center hosted the Institute of International Education (IIE), for a presentation of their efforts to provide access to higher education to displaced, and refugee youth through their The Platform for Education in Emergencies Response (PEER) program launched in 2016.

PEER maintains an online database of over 700 higher educational opportunities for refugees and displaced Syrian students. Those include university scholarships and grants for online, and language courses. Since its launch, has engaged 170,00 unique users and received more than 1.2 million hits.
