Cross-cloud Innovation Enabling Humanitarian Impact
Crisis frequency is accelerating, humanitarian orgs are embracing the cloud and cloud technologies are becoming more interoperable. ImpactCloud.org is an alliance of cloud technology vendors eager to help humanitarian organizations make the most of these trends.
NetHope, Team Rubicon, IRC and other humanitarian orgs have joined forces with a founding coalition of cloud vendors (Box, Salesforce.org, DocuSign, Okta, Splunk, Tableau and Twilio) to explore the best use of their respective technologies and to nurture cross-cloud innovation in the crisis-response domain.
These organizations share the belief that combining their resources will help emergency responders accelerate cross- cloud platform innovation. The coalition aims to help organizations research, affordably acquire, build and fund successful cloud solutions that can make huge differences in saving lives.

Below is an innovative tool you might find interesting called FACT (Field Assessment Content Tool). FACT was the outcome of a hackathon project created by IRC, Oxfam International and Save the Children and engineers from Box, Inc. on April 19 and 20, 2017.

Okta for Good - an integrated identity and mobility management service. With regards to addressing the needs of crisis response orgs, Okta has the ability stand up an identity platform that would allow crisis response teams to seamlessly access the technology they need such as email, online resources and data, e-signature documents and other assets within minutes of the crisis. Okta also comes with a Mobility Management suite that allows administrators to provision email and other applications directly onto the devices of the crisis response teams. It also allows end users to access their data seamlessly after they have enrolled in Okta’s device management.
Salesforce.org - Serving NGOs that Serve Communities in Crisis across the Globe: Technology is connecting service providers to communities in need on an unprecedented global scale. International development and disaster relief organizations help these communities meet basic needs–such as access to education or clean water–provide micro-loans to improve local economies, distribute resources after a natural disaster, and much more. Salesforce– an official tech partner for NetHope–is built to be mobile and accessible from anywhere that NGOs work on the ground. We have numerous examples of how leading development and relief organizations (including American Red Cross, Grameen Foundation, and many more) leverage Salesforce, from donor management and communications to crisis response and tracking impact.
Splunk4good is uniquely positioned to serve as a single point of entry for data aggregation and analysis, across disparate systems, networks, devices, applications, and equipment – especially in a crisis response scenario. Ease of deployment, quick time to value, and lightweight integration with existing products and solutions to gain real-time visibility and operational awareness make it an ideal component of a crisis response framework, and an integral point of connection to any/all other systems and tools that are deployed. Twilio.org - In disaster recovery situations communications technologies are essential for rescue teams in the field, people in need of help, or connecting with family members to make sure they are ok. Many times these tools are built on the spot based on needs and sometimes the final apps aren’t deployed in time for the people that really need them. What if there were simple tools that any developer or organization could deploy at a moment’s notice? What if these tools were open source and powered by the community? We started the Twilio.org initiative to support nonprofits better through technology and amplify their efforts with communications.
