COVID-19 Response

  • May 5, 2020

Airbnb hosts are offering Covid-19 first responders a place to stay - this includes NGO relief workers that are engaged in response activities. These homes allow relief workers to carry out their emergency response, while remaining safely distanced from their own families.

Airbnb has partnered with NetHope to offer organizations who are involved with Covid-19 response efforts access to these stays for free.

Example use cases include:

  • Relief workers on extended shifts that require housing in close proximity to their workplaces
  • Relief workers providing assistance in a location that is not in the same vicinity to their habitual residence
  • Relief workers voluntarily choosing to distance themselves from family and friends (n.b. responders that test positive for Covid-19 prior to the stay are not eligible for the programme)
  • Relief workers ending their missions / deployment and choosing to distance themselves from family and friends for a period of 14 days

The above use cases apply to both international and local staff members. Other use cases can also be explored on a case-by-case basis.
