e-Payments: The New Default Payment Method for USAID Implementing Partners – Why, Where, When & How?

Join us Tuesday, June 2nd in Washington DC for coffee and conversation with Bruce McFarland of USAID’s Operational Innovations for the U.S. Global Development Lab. Bruce will share the philosophy behind USAID’s new requirement to use electronic payments (e-payments) for all payments made by USAID implementing partners. As the Agency’s point person on the new requirement, Bruce is a key architect of the Agency’s approach (you can read the official Procurement Executive Bulletin here). Bruce will provide insight on how the requirement is being applied by contracting and agreement officers and share tools the Agency has developed to evaluate market readiness for e-payment use and to support the transition from cash to e-payments. The session will also explore the role of implementing partners in evaluation and compliance, if/when exceptions or waivers apply, and will offer attendees plenty of time to ask questions.
