Omidyar Network, Fundación Avina, and Avina Americas have launched the Latin American Alliance for Civic Technology (ALTEC). The $3.5M fund will support the development and promotion of civic tech platforms created to increase government transparency, fight corruption, and improve the delivery of public services.

The Alliance will invest in innovative civic tech platforms and will look for scalable technologies that can deliver significant impact in promoting civic engagement as the basis to improve democracy.
